Significant delays remain after a serious crash involving multiple vehicles closed a major Cambridgeshire road.
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway of A14 near Bythorn following a collision involving ten vehicles this morning (October 14).
National Highways warned that delays are still likely on approach, with queues stretching back to junction 13.
Earlier this morning a spokesperson said: "The A14 is closed eastbound between J13 Rushden and J16 Kimbolton due to a collision."
A diversion route is in place and asks motorists to take the following directions:
-
Exit at J13 and take the first exit off the roundabout onto the A605 northbound
-
At the A1(M) J17 interchange, take the fourth exit onto the A1(M) southbound.
-
Re-join the A14 at J21 (Brampton Hut interchange).
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: “No serious injuries have been reported. One of the drivers was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered."
