A man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, possession of class A and B drugs and driving without insurance in St Neots.
Whilst out on patrols last week, a white van with a smashed windscreen and no insurance made off from police.
Officers managed to catch up with the driver in an alleyway nearby.
Cannabis, cocaine and an axe were found in the vehicle.
"Maybe don't try and run next time," said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary,
