A life-saving charity has been nominated for six prestigious national awards.

Magpas Air Ambulance, which serves Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, and the East of England, has been shortlisted in the Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence 2024.

These annual awards, organised by Air Ambulances UK (AAUK), celebrate significant achievements in the air ambulance sector.

The charity's nominations include Volunteer Lead Sam Disney for Charity Staff Member of the Year, Sarah Walter for Critical Care Practitioner of the Year, and helicopter Technical Crew Member Scott Todd for Operations Support Staff of the Year.

The dedication of these individuals, who have made outstanding contributions over the past year, has not gone unnoticed.

The charity's wellbeing team has also been nominated for the Charity Team of the Year award, recognising their commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing across the organisation, alongside their regular duties.

Magpas Air Ambulance's November tree planting event, which saw over 200 volunteers plant thousands of trees at the new airbase site, has been recognised in the Campaign of the Year category.

Lastly, the charity, along with Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and East Anglian Air Ambulance, has been collectively nominated for the Innovation of the Year award, for their joint fundraising conference, 'Sharing for Success.'

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 28, at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
