A drink driver told Cambridgeshire Police officers that he was swerving across a carriageway because he was "desperate for the toilet".
Kahepako Katjiteo was pulled over on the A14, near Godmanchester, at around 1:50pm on September 26 after he sped past an unmarked police car.
He began swerving across the carriageway and almost crashed into the central reservation.
The 30-year-old told police officers that he was "desperate for the toilet", and that was why he was driving in such a dangerous manner.
A roadside breath test revealed that he was more than four times the legal drink drive limit of 35, with a reading of 144 microgrammes per 100ml of breath.
While in custody, he provided an evidential sample of 105 microgrammes.
At Birmingham Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (October 22), Katjiteo, of Tomblin Drive, Smethwick, West Midlands, was disqualified from driving for three years and four months after pleading guilty to drink driving and driving without a licence.
He must also carry out 80 hours unpaid work and complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
PC Sorrin Ruffell, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "Katjiteo was more than four times the legal drink drive limit.
"To be this intoxicated and in charge of a vehicle on one of our busy roads is selfish and dangerous and puts the lives of innocent road users at risk."
