A man has been taken to hospital with "life-changing" injuries after he was found inside a burning caravan in St Neots.
Emergency services were called to Tebbutts Road just before 7am today (October 25).
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called at 6.53am today with reports of concern for a man in a caravan on Tebbutts Road, St Neots."
Crews from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 6.55am. Both organisations were met with a caravan on fire, with one man inside, which had begun affecting nearby flats.
A spokesperson for the force added: "Officers are firefighters attended to find a caravan alight and a man inside.
"The road was closed and approximately 20 people from nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution, but are due to return home shortly.
"The man has been taken to hospital with life-changing, but not life-threatening, injuries."
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: "An adult man was transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment for burns."
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Gamlingay and Huntingdon were called to the scene.
A spokesperson added: "An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire."
