A man from Somersham has been disqualified from driving after he led Cambridgeshire Police officers on a 90mph pursuit through villages.
Kacper Kucharski caught the attention of officers on patrol in the early hours of the morning on October 5 in St Ives after the silver Peugeot he was driving had no MOT.
The officers indicated for him to pull over but instead he drove off. The vehicle was then seen by other officers travelling towards the village of Hilton, where it was followed at speeds of up to 90mph.
The Peugeot pulled over in Potton Road, Hilton and the driver, Kacper Kucharski, 22 of Coronation Avenue in Somersham, was arrested.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (October 24), Kucharski was given a six week sentence, suspended for a year, after pleading guilty to failing to stop, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was also disqualified from driving for 22 months.
Sergeant Chris Daniel, who investigated, said: "Kucharski had taken the vehicle without consent, knowing he was not insured and without a licence.
"He put other road users, his passenger and himself at risk of serious injury with his manner of driving. I’m pleased he will be off of our roads for some time."
