St Neots has just had the 20mph zones inflicted on parts of it.
This is a costly waste of time. Ford Close is so congested that one of their 20 road markings is always obscured by parked cars. No chance of speeding there.
Great North Road has a 20 zone crossing it at a mini roundabout. Either side of the roundabout is 30. We have 20 marked on Great North Road. 30 marked on the road and signs showing 20 for the distance of a mini roundabout and then back to 30. 200 yards up the main road is a school so back to 20.
The 20 zone is regularly used by petrol heads who pay no regards to the 20.
Why waste money on signs and road markings with no effect. There is insufficient police to enforce a petty, ineffectual speed limit so who bother?
How much did all these signs and road markings cost?
