Two people have been arrested after Cambridgeshire Police carried out welfare checks after cuckooing concerns in St Neots.
Officers, along with Places for People, undertook welfare checks in Springbrook, St Neots.
Whilst at an address in the area, they found drug paraphernalia and arrested a woman on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
The force also found another man, who had been hiding in a kitchen cupboard. They caught him as he was trying to escape through the window, and he was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
Cambridgeshire Police have since issued a statement on cuckooing. A spokesperson for the force said: "Organised criminal groups often exploit vulnerable people by recruiting them to distribute drugs and use their homes as a base for their operations, this is known as cuckooing.
