As part of our Christmas campaign to support The 3 Pillars charity, The Hunts Post spoke with Ste Greenall, a host at Black Cat Radio.

Ste is the host of the Full English Breakfast Show on Black Cat Radio, a St Neots based station, every Monday - Friday from 7am-9am.

The radio station began helping the charity in 2023, but their relationship goes back much further.

Ste said: "For the last few years Black Cat Radio has been represented at the Buckfest Music Festival, and both Dave Thomas and I met Mick Pescod and Ged Dempsey from The 3 Pillars there."

Dave Thomas is a fellow presenter at Black Cat Radio, hosting The Rock Show on a Monday night from 9pm-11pm, and the Saturday Hangover show from 10am until 2pm.

Ste continued: "Last year, Dave came up with the idea of doing some direct cash fundraising using our airwaves.

"We appealed to local businesses and individual listeners. It was a fabulous success, so we have decided to try again in 2024."

"I have a great sense of how widespread the homelessness problem is. Whilst I wish Three Pillars didn't have to do what they do, they are filling gaps which the various councils and social services are missing."

Since the campaign began, the Just Giving page has already hit its first fundraising milestone of £1,000.

The next goal is to hit £2,000. Ste said: "We know that if we can raise, say, £2,400, that will pay for three weeks' of activity for the Three Pillars team."
