A building that housed a former snooker and pool club in Huntingdonshire is set for a revival after a purchase of the site.
The Oast Lounge in St Neots is permanently closed, but St Neots Town Council is looking to change this after purchasing the building.
A spokesperson for the town council confirmed that they have bought the building in a bid to open it up to the community.
The council aims to preserve the historic value of the building, which is now in community ownership.
They added that they are "excited to embark on a collaborative journey with local people to shape the future of the building and its uses, creating a vibrant space that serves the needs of the community".
The purchase has been funded through the Government's Community Ownership Fund, and the Town Council has provided match funding from Community Infrastructure Levy reserves.
The Oast building will serve, along with the Priory Centre, as a community offering.
The council confirmed that engagement opportunities will be announced in the near future, to allow the community to have a say in how they want the building to serve them.
