Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is celebrating the fantastic medal achievements of nine of its gymnasts competing at the Setworks National Finals for the East Regional team.
The East region medalled in 9 of the 10 team competitions, with Uzair Chowdhury (U14) and Codi Hurd (U12) asked to attend a testing day for GBR development squads, thanks to their performances.
Taking place over the weekend (December 10-11) at the Telford International Centre, the competition ranges from ages 9 to 14 at club or elite level and draws on the best of the country to compete in regional teams.
George Sabine (U11), Zevi Hyland (U10) and Aston Mist (U9) helped their teams win bronze medals, with Codi and Cameron Hurd (U12) finishing 4th in their team.
Gold team medals were won by Riley Scarfe (U13) and Theo Simcock-Sims (U10), with Alex Shirley (U12) performing very strong routines to finish with the silver medal all-around.
Uzair (U14) then showed some beautiful and graceful routines in the Elite level 5 competition to finish 2nd and help the team win gold.
A spokesperson for Huntingdon Gymnastics Club said: "A massive congratulations to the Region, all the Regional coaches, the Judges and all the personal coaches of the gymnasts, as well as the parents and, of course, every one of our gymnasts."
