Huntingdonshire Athletics Club (HAC) enjoyed a stunning set of results and performances at the recent Cambridgeshire Cross Country Championships 2023.
The runners were in commanding form during the competition on January 9, with a 21-medal haul to show for their outstanding efforts.
Seven gold medals, nine silver medals and five bronze medals were won across various age groups within the club during the impressive outing.
HAC's junior cross country team manager and the club's coaching coordinator, Derek Darnell, said: "Another great display of cross country running by Hunts AC athletes in the recent County XC championships at Priory Park resulted in 21 medals being won across the age groups from Under 11 to Over 50!
"This included the senior men winning team gold for the first time and individual golds for Noah Scott-Donkin (U15 boys) and Dylan Tomaselli (U20 men)."
Noah is one of the club's many promising young talents, and he comfortably won his race by 48 seconds, whilst Dylan won his race by an equally strong 42 seconds.
Impressive performances in the county championships also acted as an opportunity for runners to win a call-up for the UK CAU Inter Counties Cross Country Championships to represent Cambridgeshire.
"As a result of this great club performance, a record total of 17 Hunts runners have been selected to represent the County at the National Inter Counties event in March," added Derek.
HAC Gold medal winners included Noah, Dylan, Dave Hudson, Christopher Smith, Leva Klavina, James Orrell, Martin Amos, Ty Farrer, Dave Connell, Shelley Duffy and Alison Stewart.
Dave Hudson won an impressive three gold medals, winning the individual Men's age 40-49 race and being part of the winning veteran men's team alongside Dave Connell and Ty, and the winning senior men's team with Christopher, James, Martin, Dylan and Ty again.
The under-11 girls team, under-13 boys and girls team and the under-15 boys team picked up silver medals, and the under-17 men's team grabbed a bronze medal, with the future looking bright for HAC's young stars.
Club member Ty said on Facebook: "Cracking running everyone - what a performance. As always, massive thanks to the coaches, athletes and officials".
