Swimmers from Huntingdon Piranhas have backed up a successful start to the 2022/23 season with several medals and personal bests achieved at the Cambridgeshire County Championships.
On the first weekend of the County Championships held at Cambridge Parkside Pool in January, a "staggering" 22 personal best times were achieved, and six medals were won by the team.
In the 10-11 age group, Felicity Fitzgerald won a championship gold in the 50m freestyle event, and a bronze medal was won by Taylor McCarthy in the 200m breaststroke event.
Similar success was celebrated in the second weekend of the championships in February, with Felicity winning a silver medal and Taylor a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke.

A spokesperson for Huntingdon Piranhas said: "The whole team showed resilience, positivity and effort and qualified for numerous finals between them.
"This is a huge achievement for the club as these are the first County medals to be won since the lockdown year."
On the final evening of the championships, 24 swimmers participated in 10 relay events, with the club placing sixth in the final medal table and Felicity ranking as the third overall best girl in her age group.
Up next in March are further meets and the start of the Junior Fenland League, where the Piranhas hope to build on their success during 2022 when they won the Group C final.
