St Neots Town produced a gutsy performance to earn what could be a priceless three points in their battle for step four survival.
Top scorer Trey Charles scored the winner 10 minutes from time after coming on as a second half substitute in their 1-0 win over Harborough Town on March 4.
The woodwork was struck three times before half-time in what was a display of attacking football in this Northern Premier League Division One Midlands contest.
Albert Adu was one to hit the crossbar early in the game, while goalkeeper Tom Finch was called into action.
Harborough had the first clear of the second half when Dan Forbes’ free header glanced wide of the post.
Manny Osei then missed the target, and Charles had scored but was ruled out by the offside flag.
Charles was not to be denied when Adu’s shot was parried into the forward’s path to claim his 21st goal of an impressive season.
St Neots go to Dereham Town, who sit a place below in 18th, on March 11, 3pm.
