Schools across Huntingdonshire have battled it out in the return of the Hunts School Sports Partnership's (HSSP) years five and six Quicksticks Hockey tournament.
Around 38 Teams from 18 schools descended on One Leisure St Ives Outdoor Centre on Tuesday, February 28, to participate in the A/B team competition and the C team festival.
After nearly 80 matches were played, Brampton Village Primary School came out on top, with their teams winning both the A and B team competitions on a day of high skill and enjoyment.
Doug Finlayson, HSSP manager, said: "It was amazing to see so many children from Huntingdonshire primary schools playing hockey.
"It has been our most popular hockey event since joining HSSP in 2017 and our busiest event of 2022/23 so far."
The tournament had moved back to the spring term for 2022/23 after the summer's extreme heat and lack of shade from the 2021/22 event.
Despite some drizzly conditions this time, the sand-based Astro was a "buzz of energy", with almost 200 children playing matches across eight mini-pitches.
The schools attending the A/B team events were split into two tournaments with 16 teams in each.
Matches started with group stages, progressing to placing matches against equally placed teams from different groups.
Brampton Village Primary School came first in the A competition, Buckden C.E Primary School second, and Houghton Primary School third.
In the B competition, Brampton Village Primary School again triumphed, Bury CofE Primary School came second, and Winhills Primary Academy placed third.

Mr Finlayson added: "Thank you to our Sports Leaders from Hinchingbrooke School and St Ivo Academy, who refereed and organised fun hockey challenges throughout the afternoon.
"The Sports Leaders were phenomenal; the weather was against them throughout the event, and I couldn't have asked for more commitment and enthusiasm.
"They were fantastic with the younger children, building rapport with the teams on their pitch and were confident with their refereeing decisions".
