A thumping 9-0 victory over Kettering 2s has secured promotion for St Neots Hockey Club Men's 1s from Division 3NW with a game to spare.
Saints' top scorer Phil McMorris was in inspired form once again, firing in five goals and adding to his ever-growing tally of 38 goals for the season.
McMorris had opened the scoring after 15 minutes before doubling the lead soon after, with Andrew Baldwin helping make it 3-0 before the break.
Captain Mike Hornby, university-bound Sam Evans, and Freddie Spavins all chipped in alongside McMorris in the second half during the relentless display.
With one more game to go, St Neots have guaranteed promotion sitting in second place, no longer able to be caught.

Elsewhere both Men's 2s and 3s also earned victories against Kettering sides. The 2s won 6-0 at home against Kettering, and the 3s beat Kettering 3s 1-0.
On the women's side, the 1s lost 4-0 in a relegation battle with Cambridge South 1s.
The loss means the 1s need to win their final two games and hope for other results to go their way.
The 2s meanwhile picked up a 4-1 win at home to Spalding 2s, putting them in an excellent position for promotion with one game left.
