Cricket Report: Upwood 1's v Stamford 1's.

Upwood won the toss and elected to field.

Stamford got off to a steady start scoring 27 runs off the first seven overs but a brilliant low diving catch by Charlie Nelson off Zachary Stevens bowling saw Stamford lose their first wicket.

Another followed quickly, with Mike Piagessi taking another catch off Steven's bowling leaving them 32 for two. The rest of the innings was steady and noone really got going until the number 10 and 11 came to the crease scoring 31off the last four overs taking them to 178/9 off 50 overs.

Upwood's reply got off to the worse possible start with Mitch Newman out caught and bowled first ball of the innings.

Opener Mike Piagessi was then joined at the wicket by hard-hitting Dan Malem and they put on 43 in six overs before Malem felling for 25 with Piagessi for 24 six overs later leaving Upwood 62 for 3.

This brought 18-year-old talented batsman Oli Parcutt at number 4 and resident number 10 Angus Pate promoted up to number 5 to the crease and they instantly jelled scoring freely with a stand of 49 off 11 overs before Parncutt fell on 30 and Pate two balls later for 19.

Another quick wicket fell at 119 for 6 then Upwood's overseas came in scoring a quick fire 45 supported by Harry Cotton 14 forming an unbeaten partnership of 56 with Upwood winning with 11 overs to spare at 179/6
