A St Neots doubles team have qualified for a prestigious national tennis tournament and later this month will get the chance to compete on the hallowed lawns of Wimbledon.
Oliver Wilson and Peter Carrington, members of St Neots Tennis club, qualified for the Play Your Way to Wimbledon national finals.
The winners of the competition, to be played later this month on the Aorangi practice courts next to Wimbledon’s Number One court, will be crowned the country’s top tennis club doubles team in the country.
In April, Oliver and Peter triumphed in the competition’s county-level tournament held at Papworth Tennis Club, where they won all three of their matches and qualified for the regional competition in Norfolk. This took place at Cromer Tennis Club in July, where they again won all their matches.
The Wimbledon finals will be played over two days, with a series of round-robinlace on Friday August 16, followed by the final on Saturday August 17.
