St Neots Rugby Club took its Development Side to Sharnbrook and Colworth Rugby club on Saturday for their first pre-season game.
St Neots arrived in a confident mood after a productive pre-season and started well taking a 0-7 lead after some powerful running from the forwards, especially Jack Wilkie who got the first points of the game.
Sharnbrook and Colworth responded well. Sustained pressure resulted in them scoring three successive tries to end the first half. Half time score: 19-7.
St Neots started the second half as they did the first, scoring early to reduce the deficit to 19-12.
With their superior fitness clear for everyone to see, St Neots took control and played some excellent rugby - making every minute count to result in a 29-19 comeback win.
Man of the Match : Daltrey Whyte, whose tenacity in both defence and offence put the opposition under pressure throughout.
