Eynesbury Rovers 5 v Sileby Rangers 0 (UCL Premier Division South) on October 15, report by Graham Mills.

Eynesbury Rovers bounced back in style from the disappointment of Saturday’s defeat with a 5-0 win to move above Sileby Rangers in the league table to tenth position.

Victor Osobu netted a double in the opening nine minutes to send Rovers on their way and Leon Fulianty and Axel Owusu gave them a 4-0 lead at the break.

Any hopes of an unlikely come back by Rangers was nipped in the bud three minutes into the second half when Ryan Lewis made it 5-0 to complete Eynesbury’s biggest win of the season.

An added bonus was the return to action of Reece King after two years out injured, who came on for Lewis in the 72nd minute.

After Sam Roach made a comfortable save from Sileby’s Lamin Jammeh Rovers took a fifth minute lead after Osobu had been held in the penalty area and he converted the spot kick.

Just four minutes later a swift counter attack by Rovers led to Owusu sweeping the ball out to the left flank for Osobu to cut inside and beat his marker before firing home.

Later Rovers leading goalscorer had a shot cleared off the line but in the 27th minute they scored again. Lewis was sent down the right wing and he pulled the ball back to the edge of the penalty area for Fulianty to drive home from 18 yards.

A bicycle kick shot by Owusu had to be saved by Dean Love but in the 39th minute he headed home an Osobu cross from six yards to make it 4-0. At the break Stevan Shaw replaced Jonny Hall.

In the 48th minute Osobu whipped a ball across the six-yard box which Owusu just failed to reach, however Ryan Lewis was at the back post to fire the ball into the roof of the net.

Further chances fell to Marcel Rzeszutek, Michael King and Nathan Mullings but Dean Love in the visitors’ goal kept them out.

Next up for Rovers is another home fixture this Saturday when Coventry United are the visitors for a UCL fixture, kick-off at 3pm.
