St Neots enjoyed an unbeaten weekend for their four women’s teams, writes Owen Edwards.

With overnight rain and a persistent morning downpour, the outlook for the home fixtures looked bleak.

However, a hard working women’s 2s and a group of club members ensured the pitch was cleared of the pooled water and action could take place.

The 2s then went on the secure a 4-3 win over Kettering 2s and extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Sue Glover scored a brace with the other two goals coming from Thea Crook and Amber Dickerson.

The Women’s 4s Development team followed this up with a 4-2 win over St Ives 4s.

After Charlie Groome’s opener, Thea Crook and Sue Glover were again on target for Saints.

In the late evening away games, the Women’s 3s were involved in the win of the day, thrashing Wisbech Town 4s 7-0.

The goals came from Lizzy Bertram, Tanishka Chamberlain, Amaani Mahran and two each from Nicola Quincey and Vanessa Wilson.

The Women’s 1s earned a hard fought draw with City of Peterborough 2s.

Kira Herbert opened the scoring for Saints in a game in which they had no substitutes.

Not long after going behind, City were level.

Saints had a number of chances denied in the second half and the game ended 1-1.

The Men’s 1s also played out an entertaining draw as their game, away to Cambridge South 2s, ended 1-1.

Saints took the lead when Robert Hoye scored his first goal of the season.

Just before the break, South were level despite a determined Sami Farrer keeping the initial three attempts out.
