Two competitors from St Ives Swimming Club took part in an eastern region championships at the weekend.
Josh Marshall and Ewan Thompson swam at the prestigious Swim England East Region Winter Championships at Inspire Luton on November 2/3.
There were no age groups in this competition, only senior qualifying times with the best swimmers from Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Bedfordshire competing against each other.
Josh Marshall competed in both the 100 and 50 metres breast stroke events and Ewan Thompson competed in the 50 and 100 metres backstroke and the 50 Butterfly and 50 breast stroke events, as well as the 100 metres individual medley.
"Both swam superbly attaining excellent lifetime and season best swims moving them well up the final position board from their original entry rankings," said Andy Hunter from the club.
Chloe Butler, swimming under the University Club of City of Norwich, qualified for the Winter Nationals in the 200 butterfly event in a time of Two Mins 20 seconds, and Luke Tunstall swimming for the University of Loughborough at their regional championships posted 22.84 for his 50 freestyle.
"A great weekend of swimming by current club members and student members across all the aquatic disciplines, and the club is immensely proud of them all for their achievements, with many more to follow," said Andy.
