St Ives's swimmer Will Roberts gained a haul of medals at the British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships at the weekend.
After some superb swimming, Will picked by gold, silver and bronze at the event on November 16/17 held at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley.
"There were 161 swimmers from all over the UK, including 24 from Portugal. Ireland, Japan, Croatia, Albania," explained coach Andy Hunter.
"This event allows swimmers with Down Syndrome compete all together and showcases the top swimmers, who make up the Down Syndrome Swimming Great Britain team.
"This hopefully will then inspire the next generation of younger swimmers who will be the team of the future.
"It was an exciting and emotional event over two days with 25m races for the less experienced swimmers right through to the 1500m freestyle event with everything else in between."
After a highly dynamic weekend, Will achieved podium medals, six in total, two golds and so the British champion 2024, one silver and three bronze medals. He also clocked up three personal best times.
Andy added: "We are exceptionally proud of him at St Ives with his exceptional national and international pathway success across the swimming spectrum of events, he is an inspiration to all our swimmers and his dedication and hard work has really paid off, and long may it continue."
