Match Report for Eynesbury Rovers and Lutterworth Town (United Counties League Premier Division South) Report by Graham Mills.
Eynesbury Rovers came from one nil down at the break to earn a deserved three points against Lutterworth Town to move up to 12th in the league table.
The visitors took an eighth minute lead with a shot by Louis Samuels but created very little after that. Rovers’ first half chances brought three saves from Warren Butlin in the Lutterworth goal each time denying the lively Victor Osobu.
A back post header by Reece King came off a defender whilst Oliver Brookes headed wide from a Leon Fulianty corner.
Eynesbury continued to dominate possession and create chances after the break. Fulianty fed Osobu down the left flank and he cut inside before aiming his shot at the top right-hand corner of the goal but it drifted just wide.
Reece King played in Jamal Batchilly but he fired his effort across goal before Fulianty and Batchilly had shots blocked.
The breakthrough came in the 64th minute when a long throw in by Dan Hammer was headed home by Oliver Brookes. It seemed only a matter of time before Rovers scored again, and after Osobu had another shot saved by Butlin, Dan Hammer turned and fired home from six yards following a corner kick to put the hosts ahead.
Jake Coxall came on for Axel Owusu in the 76th minute and twice he almost scored. His first effort was a shot from a tight angle that went across the goal whilst his second was a header that produced a fine save by Butlin as he stretched to tip the ball over the bar.
In the 90th minute, Matt Langham was sin binned for Lutterworth before the referee signalled an additional six minutes.
In the 96th minute, the Lutterworth goalkeeper came up for a corner kick and every Town player, bar the corner kick taker, were in the Rovers penalty area.
However, Rovers won possession and the ball was played to Victor Osobu who had a clear run at goal and he duly made it 3-1.
Next up for Rovers is a trip to Bugbrooke St Michaels on Saturday, November 23 for a league fixture, kick-off is 3pm.
