Owen Edwards reports on the weekend games for St Neots Hockey Club.

St Hockey Women’s 1s put in an excellent performance to secure a first win in six games as they beat Bury St Edmunds 2s 4-2.

Marie Quintilla opened the scoring for Saints but they were pegged back before the break.

In the second half, Kira Herbert scored from a penalty corner to regain the lead for the hosts.

Bury drew level once more with their own penalty corner soon after.

As the game entered the final minutes, Saints took the lead for the third time as Herbert scored her second from a penalty corner.

The three points were confirmed a minute later when Alix Hayward finish from another penalty corner.

After back-to-back defeats, the Women’s 2s returned to winning ways beating Long Sutton 1s 2-0.

Club leading scorer, Sue Glover scored both to add to her season tally.

The Women’s 4s lost in their away match to Newmarket 3s.

The Men’s 2s were the only men’s side to play on the weekend.

Their 0-0 result away to Bourne Deeping 2s was their fourth of that score line this season.

They drop to fourth place, but remain in the hunt for promotion, five points off the top two.
