The winner of The Hunts Post Best Gardens Award for 2024 has been announced - it is Christine Scrivener from Hartford.
Christine told The Hunts Post that gardening is her "passion", but she only began it six years ago after taking early retirement.
She said: "I wouldn't claim to be an expert, and like most gardeners I have made a few mistakes along the way, but I do believe I have learnt a lot.
"When people ask me what my secret is, I say it's an awful lot of hard work - from planting, to spraying, and even singing to my plants (only in the early morning when nobody is around!)"
Christine's favourite gardening season is summer because of the "abundance of colour". This year she planted geraniums, hydrangeas, begonias and petunias to name a few.
Our Best Gardens winner said: "It's so nice when people pass by and make such lovely comments about my garden.
"Yes, it is hard work, but I get lots of pleasure from it. But alas, I'll never have nice smooth hands.
"Thank you to all the people who voted for me, it means so much."
